The JTLC course is offered to bachelor's students in political science and social work.
In the winter term of 2025/26, the seminar “Beyond the Law – Life in Illegal Residency” will take place. The aim of the JTLC will be to work with students to develop a policy paper. The paper will first examine the actual situation of undocumented persons. In particular, it will analyze access to everyday life, housing, education, and health. To this end, students will conduct independent research and interview experts. Relevant advice centers, for example, are conceivable here. The aim is to highlight the actual exclusion of undocumented persons from their fundamental and human rights. At the same time, the legal exclusion of those affected by the so-called registration requirements under the Residence Act will be addressed. Furthermore, the JTLC will discuss the possibility of introducing a Kassel city card.
