In the summer semester 2025, the topic of the JTLC will be ‘Homelessness and (social) human rights’.

Various cases and legal problems will be raised, which our students will work on and solve in small groups.

Students will acquire in-depth knowledge of the legal framework and the legal requirements of homelessness. In particular, homelessness will be considered in the context of human rights. Various vulnerabilities (such as people with a history of migration, women* and children, people with disabilities, etc.) are taken into account and the institutional approach is developed.

The JTLC is open in the summer semester 2025 for students of social work (Bachelor) as well as for students on the Political Science programme (both Bachelor and Master) and for students on the Master in Social Law and Social Economy. Social work students learn to mediate between lawyers and clients in practice, as they in particular could face the resulting challenges in their everyday work. For political science students, working on legal projects offers the opportunity to better understand the legal system and the interactions between it and politics. Students on the Social Law programme can deepen and expand their existing knowledge through practical application.
