Welcome to the Just Transitions Law Clinic at the University of Kassel
The Just Transitions Law Clinic (JTLC) focusses on the role of law in a just socio-ecological transformation. In the JTLC, students work on a specific legal project in the area of just transitions over the course of a semester, which sets it apart from traditional, practice-orientated law clinics that focus on student legal advice. The JTLC will work with students of the University of Kassel and cooperation partners on a project-related basis to produce, for example, advisory guidelines, shadow reports, legal opinions and policy papers that can be used by our cooperation partners. We work in an interdisciplinary way with the law and create a basic legal education for non-specialist degree programmes such as social work and political science.
Topics and questions are brought directly to the Law Clinic by the project partners. Academic and didactic support is provided by the team from the Just Transitions department at the University of Kassel via corresponding seminars.

In the 2025 summer semester, the JTLC and its students will focus on the topic of homelessness and human rights.
